1940
December
Mr. Hisataro Kishi, the founder of our company, noticed the future prosperity of chemicals and founded MEISEI CHEMICAL INDUSTRY at No. 50 Hiwada-cho, Nishi-hichijo, Shimogyoku, Kyoto to start production of “Chromium chloride” (metallic khaki dyes) and “Galocin” (fixing agent for tannic sericin) and others.
1948
March
MEISEI CHEMICAL WORKS, LTD. was established and succeeded the activities of MEISEI CHEMICAL INDUSTRY. Nonionic, anionic, and cationic surfactants and resin finishing agents for textile industry and dyestuffs were marketed one by one.
1949
May
According to successful development of business within short period, the new factory was built at No.1 Nakazawa-cho, Nishikyogoku, Ukyoku, Kyoto and production and research divisions were transferred to the new factory.
1952
May
“DISPER TL”, famous dispersing agent for disperse dyes, was developed and produced commercially and very successfully.
1954
March
Started to export products to Southeast Asian countries.
1957
October
In order to meet the requirements in the textile industry rapidly developed by the popularization of polyester fiber, we developed and marketed “Teryl Diazo Dyes” which were the most epoch-making dyes for dyeing polyester fiber.

January
Head office was moved to present place.

July
“Hi-Soap®”, household nonionic and neutral detergent, was marketed.
1959
August
We started to industrializing “ALKOX®”, water soluble thermoplastic resin.
1960
December
Central laboratory was newly established to complete research and development.
1961
June
We cooperated with SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO.,LTD. for the sales of “Teryl Diazo Dyes” under the brand name of “Sumikaron Diazo Dyes”.
1961
September
The commercial production of “ALKOX®” was prepared.
1964
August
License agreement with SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO.,LTD. (USA) was concluded.
1964
September
We developed one bath azoic dyeing method of synthetic fibers and started production and sales of “Cellazogen colors”.
1965
March
“ALKOX® SR”, synthetic pulp dispersing agent for improving sheet formation of paper, was marketed.
1969
March
Production license of a special carrier for dyeing acrylic fiber was sold to SEPPIC (France).
1988
December
Tsu factory, our second factory was newly built in Tsu city.
1995
December
Capital increased to 80 million yen.
1997
May
Plant no.2 of Tsu factory was completed.
1999
September
Second expansion of plant No.1 of Tsu factory was completed.
2005
March
New research center was built in KYOTO plant.
2006
January
Head office acquired ISO 14001.

Feburary
Plant No.3 of Tsu factory was completed.

Third expansion of plant No.1 of Tsu factory was completed.

Head office acquired ISO 9001.
2007
August
New head office was built in KYOTO plant.

November
SHAOXING MEISEI FINE AUXILIARIES CO.,LTD was established in China.
2009
September
MEISEI CHEMICAL WORKS, LTD. acquired the textile chemical business of SANYO CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, LTD.
2014
December
MEISEI CHEMICAL WORKS, LTD. acquired bluesign system partner

March
Plant No.4 of Tsu factory was completed.
